imaginaria, interactive campfire
ABSTRACT
This project is an early stage prototype of an “Interactive Campfire”. As I explore the future of storytelling, I explore a low fidelity, immersive storytelling experience that draws from the history of storytelling around the fire place. I created an object based story experience that utilizes fog as a light projector. The experience, developed in Unity and Arduino, utilizes IBM Watson’s Speech to Text service and Text to Speech service. The story and narrative are based off a current work in progress, a Young Adult Afro-Fantasy that I have been working on concurrently. This is a first iteration with future iterations to use smell and touch, to be a smaller, more mobile object and to include more narratives.
This was an individual project out of the Advanced Interactions class taught by Marcelo Coelho.
